While in the Navy, I am preparing for a position in Technical Recruiting. I plan on networking with Developers, Account Managers, Hiring Managers, and Technical Recruiters to understand the ins and outs of the tech industry. The communication and determination skills I've gained during my time in the US Navy will prove to be highly transferable to any technical recruiting agency.
From managing entire ships, to communicating with captains and teammates overseas, communication is a trait I've learned to master to fufill my duties.
Being organized is a skill that has been ingrained into me from the start of my time in the Navy. High ranking officials aswell as my peers operate everything in a timely manner to make things efficient.
Resilience is a trait I've cultivated both before and after my time in the Navy. Being able to endure hardships and stay on task has brough me far in my career. I'm able to endure stressful situations to ensure the job is complete.
Being able to adapt to new circumstances across multiple countries in and over seas has kept me quick on my feet. Since the tech industry is always changing, this skill is highly transferable to everyday life.
Accountability, solution oriented, conflict management, customer focused, willing to embrace new technology quickly. All these traits are essentials that I've used for logistics management.
Since some technical recruiters come from sales backgrounds, having people skills in order to properly vet and converse with potential candidates is a necessary skill that I've learned to harness.
